Q: What if we have large party and all of us can not fit into my vehicle, can I hire more than 1 driver to drive more than 1 vehicle?
A: Yes you can! You can hire more than 1 driver and we can caravan from stop to stop.
Q: What if I am driving a rental vehicle, can I still use your service?
A: Yes you can. Advise your rental car company that you will be hiring a driver (they may require a copy of our driver’s license and they may charge you a small fee) let us know what you require from us and we will work with you to meet the rental car company requirements.
Q: How many passengers can we take on our tour?
A: As many as seat belts are in the vehicle and up to 6 passengers plus the driver for $40/hour. For larger groups of 7, 8 or 9 passengers, please inquire, as there is a rate increase.
Q: Are tasting/tour fees included in our hourly rate?
A: No, you will be on your own for tasting/tour fees, however, most wineries will waive fees when a bottle of wine is purchased! For tours/lunch, we recommend you make reservations and we can build the remainder of your itinerary around your tour/lunch time.
Q: Can the drop off location be different than the pick up location?
A: We will try to accommodate if we have a second driver available, an additional charge will apply for this service.
Q: We are not staying in Kelowna can your driver pick us up somewhere other than Kelowna/West Kelowna?
A: Yes, for a surcharge we can pick up/drop off anywhere between Lake Country and Osoyoos.
Q: What does the driver do while we are tasting/touring/having lunch?
A: The driver will park the car and patiently wait while you complete your visit. Your vehicle will not leave the parking lot.
Q: Can OKPD drivers operate a standard transmission?
A: Yes, please inform us at the time of booking so we can ensure we provide the appropriate driver.
Q: How quickly can I hire an OKPD?
A: We ask for a reservation 24hr in advance. Same day reservation is not guaranteed, however, we will do our best to accommodate.
Q: How does Okanagan Private Driver work?
A: An OKPD arrives at your location, parks their personal vehicle, drives you and your guests in your vehicle for the duration of your day and returns you safely.
Q: What about insurance?
A: OKPD drives under your vehicles insurance policy to guarantee that you are protected. OKPD also carries extra liability coverage in case of personal injury in an accident. Our drivers have current ICBC policies with clean a drivers abstract. Please ensure your policy is current.
Q: How do I pay for my Private Driver?
A: A refundable deposit of your choice is required to reserve your driver. A 3 hour minimum deposit is required, however, you may choose to prepay for up to 6 hours and any remaining balance can be paid to the driver at the end of your day.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: A full refund minus the PayPal transaction fee of $3.5% outside 48hrs.
Q: How do I make a reservation?
A: Visit our request a reservation page to complete the reservation form and submit it to us. Once received we will send you a confirmation email requesting you make your deposit to secure the date and finalize the reservation. Once the deposit is confirmed you are booked!
